The test evaluates the speed of metabolization of caffeine. The genetic analysis involves the interrogation of the CYP1A gene which encodes the cytochrome P450 protein, which at the liver level is the primary enzyme involved in the metabolism of caffeine. The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is recognized by the federal government as being equal to or more stringent that the government’s own laboratory inspection program.
